Top 10 Tracks - June 2008

June 2008 Top 10 Tracks

1. What a Wonderful World - Axwell & Bob Sinclair ft Ron Carroll [YELLOW PRODUCTIONS]
-- It seems like people are either in love with this track or hate it, put me down for lovin it. These two giants get together to make a happy, summer-feeling track with some uplifiting vocals. A great electro melody and a deep bassline help the feeling on this one.

2. Children (in petto 2008 mix) - Robert Miles [CD-R]
-- If you don't remember this original mix, do your homework and see what one of the first mainstream trance/techno records sounded like. In Petto gives it their treatment and brings the track back for a whole new audience.

3. Everybody's Got To Learn Sometimes (laidback luke edit) - The Korgis [CD-R]
-- This track might be more recognizable by its chorus of "I Need Your Lovin, Like the Sunshine". No producer is putting out more bangers lately than LBL and this one is right up there.

4. They Always Come Back (intro mix) - Arnej [COLDHARBOUR RECORDINGS]

-- Huge proggy bomb. The intro mix provides a great set opener and when the beat kicks in on this one....watch out.

5. Move Your Body (jesse garcia) - The Grower [CABALLERO RECORDINGS]
-- Updated version of Marshall Jefferson's house classic. Jesse gives it the electro/tribal treatment.

6. Authority - Re-Ward [BLACKHOLE RECORDINGS]
--Techy beats in this one build up to a great synth key line. The flip to this is great as well (Coco's Taste)

7. Finally (kam/zala remix) - CeCe Peniston [CD-R]
-- My theme for this months chart must be updated versions of older tracks. This electro take on ce ce's classic even features the classic piano before coming in with the electro synths. Huge record for me.

8. The Legacy 2.0 (alex morph's big drop remix) - Funabashi presents Saltwater [OVATIONS]
-- Often confused as inpetto's mix, Alex Morph does a great job with Funabashi's banger. Typically most trance DJ's were playing Alphazone's mix of the for its huge uplifting synths and drops. Alex takes that same energy and puts it into a more chilled-out vibe. Great production.

9. Code of the Streets - James Flavour [DIRT CREW RECORDINGS]
-- Some chilled out techy house. I'm new to the Dirt Crew but I'm liking a lot of what they are putting out lately. This track is huge for me early in my sets to set the vibe.

10. Smoke Machine 2008 (james talk remix) [SKINT RECORDS]-- Might as well finish off this month's chart with an update of a track that was huge for me a few years ago. "Smoke Machine" used to be huge early in 2000 and James Talk updates it with the same synths and vocal line to have lights guys in every club holding down the smoke button for a good 5 minutes. Talk's remix makes the track a little more upbeat and gives it a little more flow. Great remix.

That's it for this month. Don't forget you check my chart every month as well as download new mixes on my personal blog site---> http://mikebugout.blogspot.com

Party Safe,
