The End of 1 Chapter....

June 20, 2007 was the first night of a new party & residency I started first at Club Abyss, and 2 weeks later at Deko Lounge. 5 years and 3 months later, I think its safe to say that Wildlife Wednesdays have not only been my favorite party I've ever been a part of, but one of the biggest factors in not only helping to mold me as a DJ, but a huge help to where I am in the industry today. Many of you have heard the rumors and have asked questions so rather than bore everyone with a lengthy facebook status, I figured for those who care, I'd let you know the deal here on my blog where I can say as much as I want.

It's no secret that the owners of Deko Lounge sold the club to a new ownership group and beginning Friday Sept 21st, the club will change names from Deko to iKon Lounge. And although Wildlife Wednesdays will continue on and I was asked to stay on, it's my decision to leave the party. My last Wednesday night will be Wednesday September 19th
In no way does my leaving indicate a problem with the new ownership. I think they are a great group of guys with some great ideas for the venue and I'd like to see Wildlife grow to be even bigger. My homie DJ JG will remain on and I believe there will be some different DJs joining him over the next few months. After driving 1 hour south from NY to NJ every Weds for over 5 years, I felt as though it was time to move on and challenge myself to do even bigger things. IN NO WAY does this mean I plan on slowing down and the next few months will be clear evidence of that. However in order to give more time to studio work and a full time job, the time has come to step away.
I couldn't even thank everyone possibly in 1 post so I wont even attempt to. Of course the management who pushed the crazy idea of 1 resident DJ without an opener or guests every week and believing in him is what helped make the party what it is. And a promotional staff known as the ZOO CREW who didnt promote for payouts, or for comp bottles, but promoted for the love of the party. You guys will always have a special place in my heart. But most of all I thank every single one of you people who came out on a Wednesday night to a club to party with me, and hear me spin. Some of you came every week, some while home from school, and some even just a Wednesday here or there. But every one of you is what made me wake up every Wednesday morning with a spark and an excitement that rivaled Christmas Morning, every single week. In 5 + years I have missed exactly 4 Wednesday nights, and the thought of not being there will definitely take some getting used to.
So to end things off, the last Wednesday where the building is still named Deko Lounge, Wednesday Sept 19th, will be my last week there, and I'm asking all of you to come join me. If I've ever put you on a list, skipped you ahead of the line, or given you a drink, please I ask for you to come join me to celebrate not only the end of 1 chapter, but the beginning of a new chapter for both myself and for Wildlife as it moves into a new era at iKon Lounge.
