Top 10 Tracks - September 2008

September 2008
myspace.com/mikebugout

1. Control - Dataworx [DATAWORX DIGITAL]
-- Huge techno banger right here. Very simple elements here with a banging kick build to leave you with a record to destroy the end of your sets.

2. Klack (inpetto remix) - Who's Who [SIZE]
-- Inpetto really goes deep with this remix of Angello and Ingrosso's techy original. The upbeat drums are still included, now added are some great melodic builds.

3. Straight Away - Mark Mendes [STARTER]
-- Another techy work from Mr. Mendes, who I am really becoming a fan of. A few simple chords, bleeps and bloops with a strong set of drums behind it make this one huge for me.

4. Azteca (stadium mix) - KOS [TOOLROOM]
-- Contender for track of the month for me right here, on Mark Knight's label. Azteca samples the guitar from Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" and throws behind a nice deep bassline. Such a feel good jam.

5. Underlying Feeling (adam k & soha) - Sylvia Tosun [SEA TO SUN]
-- Adam K and Soha straight out of Canada deliver the goods once again with this proggy and airey vocal. Getting huge play on XM and by all the big jocks including Armin, Tiesto among others.

6. Redlight (oliver twizt remix) - Ian Carey [SPINNIN]
-- This one is my pick of the many remixes done of this track. I've always been a fan of Ian Carey's and this mix is definitely on the harder, more techy side.

7. Amazing (thomas gold) - Mario Ochoa [AVENUE]
-- Thomas Gold must not sleep, ever. It seems like he has remixes out for dayssss and this one is one of my favs this month. It almost takes a page from some of the big house than ran NYC years ago, deep bassline with stabs, huge vocal.

8. Another Chance (fred baker) - Avalon 69 [CAPTIVATING SOUNDS]
-- It's so good to see Fred Baker back putting out joints. After a ton of success in 06, 07 we didn't hear much from him. This remix is not the usual uplifting sound we're accustomed to from Baker, but picks up from the build. Quality trancer.

9. Cold Winds - Jonas Steur ft Julie Thompson [BLACK HOLE]
-- Great intro track from Jonas and great vocals from Julie.

10. The Unit (paul miller remix) - Airborne Angel [CD-R]
-- Huge uplifter here. Paul Miller is on fire right now and almost every track he puts out is quality. The Unit is pure peak hour, hands in the air, and every other trance generalization you can think of! Huge keys with a drum roll into a huge build.

That's it for September. I will be going back to list July and August, which I did not get to post. Don't forget you can catch me LIVE each and every Wednesday @ deko lounge in Sayreville, NJ and also a special guest appearance in north NJ @ 46 Lounge in totowa, NJ on Thursday September 25th. Top 10 Tracks - June 2008

June 2008 Top 10 Tracks
myspace.com/mikebugout
myspace.com/smashbrothersnyc

1. What a Wonderful World - Axwell & Bob Sinclair ft Ron Carroll [YELLOW PRODUCTIONS]
-- It seems like people are either in love with this track or hate it, put me down for lovin it. These two giants get together to make a happy, summer-feeling track with some uplifiting vocals. A great electro melody and a deep bassline help the feeling on this one.

2. Children (in petto 2008 mix) - Robert Miles [CD-R]
-- If you don't remember this original mix, do your homework and see what one of the first mainstream trance/techno records sounded like. In Petto gives it their treatment and brings the track back for a whole new audience.

3. Everybody's Got To Learn Sometimes (laidback luke edit) - The Korgis [CD-R]
-- This track might be more recognizable by its chorus of "I Need Your Lovin, Like the Sunshine". No producer is putting out more bangers lately than LBL and this one is right up there.

4. They Always Come Back (intro mix) - Arnej [COLDHARBOUR RECORDINGS]

-- Huge proggy bomb. The intro mix provides a great set opener and when the beat kicks in on this one....watch out.

5. Move Your Body (jesse garcia) - The Grower [CABALLERO RECORDINGS]
-- Updated version of Marshall Jefferson's house classic. Jesse gives it the electro/tribal treatment.

6. Authority - Re-Ward [BLACKHOLE RECORDINGS]
--Techy beats in this one build up to a great synth key line. The flip to this is great as well (Coco's Taste)

7. Finally (kam/zala remix) - CeCe Peniston [CD-R]
-- My theme for this months chart must be updated versions of older tracks. This electro take on ce ce's classic even features the classic piano before coming in with the electro synths. Huge record for me.

8. The Legacy 2.0 (alex morph's big drop remix) - Funabashi presents Saltwater [OVATIONS]
-- Often confused as inpetto's mix, Alex Morph does a great job with Funabashi's banger. Typically most trance DJ's were playing Alphazone's mix of the for its huge uplifting synths and drops. Alex takes that same energy and puts it into a more chilled-out vibe. Great production.

9. Code of the Streets - James Flavour [DIRT CREW RECORDINGS]
-- Some chilled out techy house. I'm new to the Dirt Crew but I'm liking a lot of what they are putting out lately. This track is huge for me early in my sets to set the vibe.

10. Smoke Machine 2008 (james talk remix) [SKINT RECORDS]-- Might as well finish off this month's chart with an update of a track that was huge for me a few years ago. "Smoke Machine" used to be huge early in 2000 and James Talk updates it with the same synths and vocal line to have lights guys in every club holding down the smoke button for a good 5 minutes. Talk's remix makes the track a little more upbeat and gives it a little more flow. Great remix.

That's it for this month. Don't forget you check my chart every month as well as download new mixes on my personal blog site---> http://mikebugout.blogspot.com

MDW 2008 Review!!

Wow.

I can only hope you guys had nearly as much fun as I did this past weekend. The weather was amazing, met some new people, partied with the usual suspects and hear some incredible music. Here's a quick rundown:

Friday: Shouts to my Westchester peeps who tried their absolute hardest to get me out to the Ave. Thank God i was able to hold off their efforts or I would not have made it this weekend haha.

Saturday: Scooped up El Capitan Johel and NievesTV and headed to Atlantic City. Checked into Harrah's (shout to the check-in lady who upgraded me to a jiggy room in the new Waterfront Tower). Grabbed a redic dinner at the Steakhouse (lovin the special) and then met up with our new friends/roommates for the weekend. Pics to come ;)
After getting ready, it was off to get our minds controlled by Richie Santana and Peter Bailey at "The Pool" at Harrah's. If you've never been, its a bio-dome sort-of indoor pool with massive speakers set up and about eleventy-billions bars (all of which I hit at least once). Spent the night dancing, chopping and drinking away with the crew as Richie, Peter and my man Klutch held the music down. The party then continued up in the room until around 7am. Then it was off to the Blackjack table and up $500 later I decided to call it a morning. Got 1 hour of sleep, nice!

Sunday: Headed to Seaside to meet up with Mikey Guido (how r ya??) and walked the boardwalk for a while. Shit was hopping. Then it was off to the only place in the world i'd want to be on Memorial Day Sunday....Joey Harrison's Surf Club. Mike Roman took us ahead of the 2 hour wait to get in and we proceeded to hang with my good friend DJ Toro aka Pjannoooo as he rocked Surf with all the classics and new jams that kept the beach movin. Miami Vices and Coronas were in full effect. SO good to see so many familiar faces. Louie Corrales took it over at 5 with some dirty beats and right before Denny Tsettos took over, I had to head out to spin a gig at Club Abyss. On my last ounce of energy I spun from 930-1230 and then headed back to Westchester to my bed.

Again, what a great weekend with pics and a full video of all festivities coming this week-- check my myspace (www.myspace.com/mikebugout) for the pics.

What a crazy weekend and now a crazy week ahead. Come DETOX at Deko this Wednesday and then this Saturday we return to KRYSTALS in Queens. If u missed my last gig there earlier this month, check this video-
